Day 10: Longer than expected day!

Mile traveled: = 250.7

Today was a long day we started in Greeley, CO, went onto Cheyenne, WY to visit Planet Fitness and then just kept going. It's funny how the littlest towns name their restaurants "emporiums" and when I say little I mean population: 45. LOL!

As we started moving further into Wyoming we were talking about how this was the land of the buffalo and how sad it was that no one would ever witness what was documented in early visitors journals. Right after that discussion we stopped at a "Point of Interest". The Majestic Plains... talking about the beauty and the buffalo and how they are changed forever. You can still picture them on the open plains that are wonderful to behold.

As we moved on down the road a bit we saw our first Wall Drug sign just before Torrington, WY. Then our second and third before and after Lusk. For those of you who don't know what Wall Drug is it's a little town 55 miles east of Rapid City, SD. When I was a kid it was barely a town but more like an ice cream stand, a general store and a place to feed baby animals. NOW it's a town with a reputation unto itself. They start posting signs hundreds of miles before it from 5 or 6 directions. It's a hoot!

We stopped at a little Homesteaders Museum in S. Torrington, WY and met some great folks, Bert and Ray Babbittt. They have family AZ and manage this great place.

There were train caboose's and Railway Post Office Cars and wonderful cars hidden away in a little building. It was a treasure trove of old stories and history. We would not have stopped if the Post Office and Railway Express shared car hadn't caught our attention going down the road.

Some pictures we got were a 1934 Ford and 1907 Auto Buggy both were incredible to see. Both were sharing a room with an old "Concord Coach" that was used in Torrington, WY a very long time ago. You never know what you'll  find tucked away in these little towns.

We did stop and take more photo's but I think that's all for now folks... Absolutely exhausted and going to end for the night. Tomorrow we are going to take a quick detour to Rapid City, SD and then onto Deadwood (we hope). We'll share more then.
