Day 37: Off again

Total Miles - 155.4

Hey I forgot to tell you all that we saw a moose yesterday. It was young and just walking along the edge of the forest on the road in the shadows. BIG!! We've been riding in moose country and I'm surprised we hadn't seen one sooner. Today as we backtracked to get some photos of great old cars near Presque Isle, I saw another bear up one of the side roads just standing in the middle of the road. I was really glad that wasn't the road we needed.

We were really close to the Canadian border all day, in fact we are parked no more than 5 miles away right now at Walmart. Beautiful country! We have been riding down Route 1 from Presque Isle and have settled for the night in Calais, Maine with a lot of road work along the way that slowed us down.

We found some really cool 3D planets along Route 1 and found out that they were part of project that was done from 2000 - 2003. We managed to find Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto... I will post photos on Facebook.

While we were wandering around Houlton, Maine we found a beautiful walking bridge and more amazing old buildings. The one thing that I notice in Maine is a lot of telephone wires in the way of some beautiful structures.

And all along the way acres of potato fields were planted. They look like they are just waiting for seeds to put in but a lovely older lady informed us that all the seeds had been planted and in a few weeks we would see those same fields green with new plants.

Well I'm done for the night so I'll finish posting pictures for your viewing pleasure and have a great night.
